Let's face it, life has been difficult for some people. Private sessions are the best option for people who would like to take the "sting" out of highly charged thoughts and feelings. If you experienced a difficult divorce, death of a spouse or parent, physical and/or emotional abuse, job loss, or any other issue that causes you emotional suffering - know that hypnosis is a great tool to help you feel better and move forward.

If you are experiencing chronic pain but can't remember any physical trauma that may have caused your on-going pain, hypnosis can help you learn to dial down your pain level while increasing your comfort level. Pain from cancer treatments can also be addressed.

Or, perhaps you have an exagerated fear that causes you serious distress and is interfering with your quality of life.  Hypnosis can help you remove that fear.

To maximize our office time, you'll be asked to complete our intake forms before you attend your first session. This information will help Dr. Winslow understand more about you and your desired change. Because we are a paperless office, the forms will be securely emailed to you prior to your visit. We ask that you complete and return the forms via our HIPAA compliant portal prior to your arrival.

Your 60 to 90 minute session begins with an interview. We'll also do fun games to discover your brain's favorite learning style. Some clients are visual learners, others are auditory, and still others are kinestetic. Knowing this information helps us to work together to create custom scripts we'll use to talk directly to the Limbic system of your brain. Together, we'll work as a team to help unlock the emotions and ideas tied to the issue you are wanting to overcome, and then replace those old negative thoughts with new ideas you want to believe about yourself. Through this process, you will literally begin to rewire your brain! You can also remove old negative, perhaps painful emotions that may be holding you back.  And, you will learn techniques that will ensure YOU are truly the "boss of your brain."

When Should I Consider Private Sessions?

Private sessions are best for unwelcomed fears, emotionally charged traumas, and sports/personal performance when you want to improve something specific. Additionally, if you start with group sessions but don't feel you are progressing as well as you would like, consider booking a private session to speed your healing.

How Long Will It Take?

Private sessions can be beneficial in just one visit, however, the average is three to six sessions. If you are not a good candidate for hypnosis, Dr. Winslow will be happy to refer you to a licensed medical professional. Also, if you are under the care of a licensed professional, we must secure their permission to work with you prior to your first session. View her scope of practice and her promise to you here.

How Much Does It Cost?

The lowest fee for private sessions is $135 per session if you book four sessions and pay in advance. Or, you can book four sessions and pay weekly, however the fee rises to $150 per session. Finally, if you choose an individual pay as you go option the fee is $200 per session. Learn more here.

Again, sessions run from 60 to 90 minutes in length. You can also take advantage of our group session called How to Retrain Your Brain prior to attending your first individual session. This will help you gain a deeper understanding of hypnosis at the reduced rate of only $79.

If your session is recorded, it will be emailed to you via DropBox at no additional charge. While we do not accept insurance, we can provide you with billing codes which you can file with your insurance provider. Additionally, if you need to cancel a scheduled session, you MUST provide 48 hours notice or you will be billed the full session price. Cancellations are made via the online portal. Read more here.

Anything Else I Should Know?

Yes. Hypnosis only works if you want it to. To be successful, you should be willing to submit to the entire process which usually requires you to do "homework." Since we are working to "rewire" your brain, homework helps make the new ideas stick. Depending on your issue, homework can be as simple as listening to your recorded session on a daily basis, journaling, reading an assigned book, or just sitting quietly each day. Your willingness to do homework will ensure your success, and potentially help you achieve your desired goal even more quickly.
